1917
The building is located on a farm established by the Duncan family as Duncan's Dairies. The farm supplied Springfield and the surrounding areas with fresh milk and other dairy products.
1940
Duncan opens The Ice Cream & Dairy Products store in this year, where all milk products sold come direct from Duncan's own plant and are delivered fresh from the dairy.
1941
Duncan's Dairies merges with Miller-Flounder Dairy of Chester, and the site is re-opened in 1943 as Duncan's Ice Cream & Dairy Cottage.
1954
Abbotts' Dairy Company purchases the property.
1975
The Dairy Cottage expands its original menu of dairy products to include pizza, sandwiches, soups, and other foods, becoming a full-service restaurant.
1981
Now owned and operated by the Higgins family, the restaurant becomes a local institution popular for steaks, pizza, hoagies, and ice cream.
2004
Dairy Cottage expands to better serve the faithful.
2010
Celebrating 30 years serving Springfield and the surrounding area.
